Reading Buddies (Surrey Libraries)
A volunteer opportunity for youth ages 14-18. Children in Grades 2-4 are paired with a teen volunteer and will spend time reading together online in a safe, supportive environment. Sessions are 60 minutes long and meet once per week for 6 weeks in the Spring and Fall. The program is designed to support children who are new readers and helps to build their confidence and improve their skills. As a Reading Buddies Volunteer, you are a role model to a young reader, practicing reading with your Little Buddy and engaging in fun literacy activities. Apply here.

SiteReadyBC Online Construction Safety Orientation
SiteReadyBC is the first comprehensive construction site safety orientation program developed in British Columbia, providing workers with the core knowledge they need to understand the safety requirements of any construction site in the province and to work there with confidence. Developed and created by the BCCSA in consultation with stakeholders from the BC construction industry, SiteReadyBC is already being cited by some employers and project owners as a prerequisite for working on their projects. Students can be registered in SiteReadyBC at no charge. Following registration, they have 30 days to complete this online course. For more information about SiteReadyBC or to register, contact Ms. Pajic in the Career Office.
